Let’s drop the stones.
(Because we are all guilty and deserving of being stoned to death.)
Jesus said in John 8, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone...”
Which one of us has the right to throw a stone? No one of course!
That’s the way of Jesus- Grace Incarnate.
That’s the way of grace.
What if the Church REALLY decided to extend the grace they have received and are still receiving INSTEAD OF quickly picking up stones? How would THIS look to an observing, lost and broken world?
The way of the world uses the stones to build a wall blocking people from true freedom which is found only in Jesus Christ and leaves them bruised, bleeding and eventual death.
The way of grace uses the stones to build a pathway to the cross where the repentant can find forgiveness, restoration, and redemption which is found only in Jesus Christ.
His grace extends to all. Let’s build the pathway!
I believe this takes remembering…reflecting…which BTW is essential to transformation and growth. Those who refuse to “go back” (remember/reflect) rarely ever go forward and IMO are more likely to pick up stones.
God’s grace to me is not in vain. I remember what He pulled me out of…what He rescued me from. Lord, help me to always remember and to extend grace.
Today that’s my prayer for me and for you. Will you join me in prayer?
