I once heard Rick Warren say, “Other people are going to find healing in your wounds. Your greatest life messages and your most effective ministry will come out of your deepest hurts.” This struck my heart with truth. Then I turned to scripture and I read Psalm 147:3 “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” We will ALL experience wounds, some deeper than others but there is an occasion for everything, and a time for every activity under heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1) Every life has a purpose! Every wound has a purpose! Time will not heal all wounds but eternity will. We don’t know why bad things happen to good people but we do know this…that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28) Healing doesn’t always happen on this side of heaven but it does in eternity and until then we must trust in the sovereignty of God. God is good all the time and all the time God is good. We need to keep praying for healing but also remember this sometimes difficult truth…healing isn’t the goal. God’s glory is. Yes to Him be the glory! God use our hurts for someone else’s gain. In Your Name, Amen.
