There have been times in my life where I have struggled with OVER focusing on sin. It separated me from God, making my relationship with my Savior dreadful. This leads to bondage...exactly the opposite of what Jesus came and died for….which was to set captives free. Although we need to be saved from eternal separation from God only once, Christ continues His saving work in us for the rest of our lives. (Praising Him for that!) One thing God has gracefully taught me was to not focus so much on sin but rather focus on Him, my Redeemer. When we focus on sin it entices us but when we focus on Christ, He captivates us. In Him, you will find growing satisfaction and delight. So encouragement for today…focus on Christ, not your accountability or lack thereof. Focus on Christ, not your church attendance or lack thereof. Focus on Christ, not your performance or lack thereof. There's no high like the Most High! When we taste of Him and see He is good every false high that sin brings will be recognized as false, as a substitute for the real thing which is Jesus.
